Motivational authors and speakers team up for Gurmilan’s second national release, slated for late 2020

SAN DIEGO – A-MOtivational Communications announced that its founder and owner, Alex Montoya, was selected as Executive Editor for a new book being written by Humberto “Beto” Gurmilan. Gurmilan – whose 2016 debut book, From My Chair, chronicles his journey from becoming paralyzed as a teenager to becoming an Emmy Award-winning television journalist – is the President of the San Ysidro School Board, community college instructor, and founder of the Gurmilan Foundation, which provides support and scholarships to people with disabilities.  Montoya will oversee editing and content and provide a Foreword for the yet-unnamed book. It is expected to be published by the end of 2020.

Said Montoya, “Beto’s writing and speaking has impacted thousands of people in San Diego and Baja California. To be entrusted to help deliver his message that it takes courage to overcome adversity is a sacred honor. He’s a friend, colleague, and brother, who inspires me daily.”

A-MOtivational Communications (AMOC) was founded in 2015 and specializes in motivational books and presentations. Montoya, who formerly worked for the San Diego Padres and Hispanic Chamber, has delivered talks at Google, NASA, and Harvard. AMOC is located in the East Village neighborhood of downtown San Diego.
